Is It safe to say that l am not alone in this?
Is it safe to say that it is normal to feel like this?
I can already feel those piercing eyes of yours wondering...where is she going with this?
Is it safe to safe that it is not a sign of weakness when one cries?
——
Sometimes it is necessary to let the tears roll down and scream, in an attempt to release all the emotions. It is important to note that crying is not a sign of weakness - that is an old school way of thinking. Crying is a response to all types of emotions.
One does not need permission to release what they feel.
The simplest analogy to explain this is: Imagine a drain that is blocked and without any intervention, you expect it to miraculously unblock itself. Obviously a plunger is needed to relieve the blockage.
It is the same with emotions. Sometimes we need to let it all out regardless of the judgemental 'Tom and Joe'.
Whichever way, people will always have an urge to judge, but l encourage you to 'DO YOU' and be true to yourself without feeling as if you owe anyone an explanation.
Trust me, you do not want spend the rest of your life having to explain yourself and all your emotions to anyone. You cannot live your life under the shadows of judgement. Do not allow anyone to make you feel otherwise.
Be true to yourself and save your sanity

This is so true, there is nothing wrong with showing emotions!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteThis is beautifully written! I often keep my emotions inside but have a nice cry and let myself feel everything once/twice a month. After, I feel more relaxed. I'm trying to let my emotions out more often especially with the isolation during the pandemic. Thanks for sharing your thoughts x
